Hole.io is a arcade physics puzzle game .
The player controls a black hole that moves around the city area. By consuming various objects, the size of the hole increases, thus allowing the player to consume larger objects as well as smaller players.
Hole.io combines multiple game mechanics. In classic mode, the player's goal is to become the largest black hole at the end of a two-minute turn by traveling around the area and consuming trees, humans, cars, and other objects of appropriate size that fall into the black hole. Gradually, the hole becomes larger and is able to suck in buildings and smaller black holes. If an object is too large, it will not fall in and may block the path of other objects. Players need to take advantage of the game's real-time physics and optimize their effective growth path. Other black holes can consume the player's black hole resulting in "death" and respawn after a few seconds.
"Versus" mode is a battle royale mode where the pit is the last hole standing for the player in the goal against multiple opponents. While players can still consume the environment, the goal is to eliminate all other vulnerabilities.
Both Classic and "Battle" modes are not played against the player, but against the computer. In addition, there is a single player mode that allows the player to play alone for two minutes with the goal of consuming close to 100% of the city. The game's simple mechanics put it in the ultra-casual category.
Players earn points at the end of each round, which count towards their level. Each level unlocks new skins to customize the look of the holes. Other skins can also be unlocked by performing certain tasks in the game.
